Stanislaw Barszczak, Everybody knows what to do (European election, Spring 2019)
The discussion, which took place on Wednesday evening at the European Parliament in Brussel (15.05.2019), was also attended by other contenders for the current role of Jean-Clude Juncker: Manfred Weber from the European People’s Party, Margrete Vestager from the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats, Jan Zahradil from the Conservatives’ Agreement and Reformists, Ska Keller from the Greens and Nico Cue from the European Left… The hottest part of the debate moderated by Emilie Tran Nguyen from France Televisions and Markus Preiss from the German ARD concerned migration and the fight against global warming…Timmermans, who is a candidate for the head of the Socialist and Democratic People’s Party (S & D), said that every time someone dies trying to get through the Mediterranean to the EU, Europe loses some of its soul. “We cease to be who we are. We lose our values without solving this problem” – he pointed out… As he stressed, we must counteract the fact that migrants board smugglers’ boats and that is why a great support plan for Africa is needed. He added that for this plan or border protection, it is impossible to solve the problem, which is why solidarity in Europe is needed… “Solidarity is not only about something we like, but sometimes something we do not like, if the countries of Central and Eastern Europe continue to say solidarity, sooner or later the borders will be restored in Europe,” he warned… This is not the first threat to exclude countries refusing to cooperate on a common asylum system from the Schengen area. Similar suggestions were made previously by French President Emmanuel Macron…The candidate of the European People’s Party also said that the EU needs a common approach to solving the problem of migration. “For us in the EPP, there are two pillars in this matter: the first is that countries control who gets into Europe, not smugglers, we have to regain control over our borders. … The second thing is our humanitarian responsibility… It means resettlement from Syria, a great Marshall plan for Africa “- said Weber… So, as you know the next elections to the European Parliament are expected to be held between 23 and 26 May 2019 and it is the 9th parliamentary election since the first direct elections in 1979. A total of 751 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) currently represent more than 512 million people from 28 member states. In February 2018, the European Parliament voted to decrease the number of MEPs from 751 to 705 if the United Kingdom were to withdraw from the European Union on next future. However, the United Kingdom is now due to participate alongside other EU member states after an extension of the Article 50 process… The European Union is a “monster”, which is deeply contemptuous of the democratic process, Greece’s former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis has told BBC HARDtalk. But now the EU had been created, disassembling it would not fix the problem and would throw Europe into a “terrible abyss”, he warned. “There is no way that we as Europeans can escape a post-modern 1930s if this monster of the European Union disintegrates under the weight of its hubris and discontent for democracy,” he said, adding that we need to civilise and democratise the “monster” (quote end). Europe as a finger -strategic strength must be seen here, when she came to life. In my opinion my country Poland, is losing its future… Democracy in Poland after 2010 accident in Smolensk close to Russia Putin system. The world situation created Putin system, there is no alternative to this, it is very short view… Putin system, there is no political competition… Not advantage but disadvantage, there is complicated problem… There is authoritarian system, not only opinion problem but a complicated failure, Grigorij Javlinsky, Russian opposition leader from Yabloko party, said. See result: annexation Crime as unlawful act. There is no system justice, but power one personality… I am associated with this failure I would say here, wouldn’t? Though I’m less addicted with this system in Poland. And I want what is necessary for my country. You absolutely right, you’re talking to me. But people is intelligent everywhere. Putin system there is mafia system. Mussolini, in past everybody was supporting him. This way to no way, nowhere… I think not even for today but for future. System penetrated all, also American election. Nationalism for Russia is War, real threat, Javlinsky had spoken. There is nature of this system. Putin absolutely knows that I am right. You must create civil force, a large political party. And we create these new situations 30 years. We are to create new Patriots. Let me say, you note the fact that despite the three-year conflict between the European Commission and the Polish authorities regarding the law, the support for the European Union in Poland is higher than three years ago … However, there are fundamental differences in Europe on migration. In the Union, everyone must find a solution for Refugees. Global warming is progressing, because people are flying, not driving. Reasons – lack of high-speed rail between cities etc. And now something from America. Alabama passes bill banning. It introduces a ban abortion. God knows… So, let me put the reflection. I’m not able to brag myself. Maria Janion was honored with the special anniversary award of the Polish PEN Club. I feel joy and gratitude, she said. Physically I can not attend the awards ceremony, so I write my warmest thanks in a written way. After a moment’s reflection, receiving this great prize caused some astonishment in me. It is related to the figure of Jan Parandowski (Polish writer), its patron. I got to know the early work of Parandowski in Vilnius as a student. Thanks to my beloved Latin teacher, I was fascinated with antiques at the time. Parandowski became an impressive guide to me after an era that I got to know and adore. In this way – and hence my surprise – a figure known many years ago, in the early age of the awakening of the mind, appears now, at the end of the road. Today, my mind is busy, as always, with current affairs, but also with private antiquity, the period of first serious reading, thinking and exploding imagination. I devote all my attention to the inter-war now, I’m almost all about it. So the time was revealed to me. The picture of the pre-war writer returned, which I later did not recognize personally, but in my adult life I could see from a distance, when we lived in the neighborhood of the old Ochota district in Warsaw. Being overjoyed with a clear signal from the world – the announcement of the prize – I have booked one of the collections of Jan Parandowski’s records, the so-called cards. Tirelessly he accumulated on them crumbs of existence, the view from the window, reading, thoughts and all that characterized his intellectual life, astonishing multidimensionality, being both here, among the contemporaries, as well as there, among the ancients. I realized that the 60th anniversary of the 50th anniversary of the 1960s reflections was a shameful year for the expulsion of Jews from Poland. Parandowski’s strikes a recurring experience of war. One of his most terrible experiences during the Second World War caused him to be somewhat casually. At that time his library and its archive were burnt in Krakow. The picture of war is for me a group of women with children running somewhere along the road, they do not know where to go, probably to the forest. They are watching every now and then, whether planes are flying or not bombs will fall on them and on children. My mum also wanted to run away with me into the forest, but I rebelled against it and rather kept our home, despite everything – the house, or in the end of the basement. But I know all too well this fear of fire, the specter of burning manuscripts, books, notes, copies. Sometimes I think that it was the association with the ruins of war, with ruins and debris that made me want to collect everything written down in words. Parandowski often has the word pax, peace, and thoughts about what he is in Europe. Without memory of the war, it can not be understood. Memory is not possible without archives and libraries. Without them, in my opinion, life is impossible. What would our knowledge of the ways of existence during war and peace be if there were no libraries, collections of sources, records, notepads, letters, documents? Thanks to them, we understand what it means to be a human being. Today, I am trying not to think too closely about my current existence. I know what this – life – ends. People believe that the old people have something important to say, but in general it is – I think – something deeply pessimistic, which is better to keep silent, because people should not be worried. I lived a rather limited life. I do not regret it at all, I just know it, I did not know it before. I lived in a religious order, in the service of academic institutions, university and institute. I took it very seriously. If I treated less seriously, not only did the most serious things, it would be easier for me. I’m happy to read and think about animals, about a dog I never had, about what the cat visiting my brother’s house said. In the past, animals belonged to these little important matters. Now I know that animals are beautiful… I eat much less meat than I used to. I still have the same interests and political sympathies. The titles of some new publications encountered in the press continue to be electricizing on me. I still can not stand parting with the pages I have saved, all the same whether they have ever been important or always unimportant. I’ve been passionate about my whole life what I called the archive of existence – an attempt to preserve the smallest traces, saving everything. I often think about the Archive of Emanuel Ringelblum, about the resources from the very center of the Holocaust. I am thinking of a part not found, resting somewhere in the ground… I could never give up feeling of responsibility for small things, fragments, traces. A collection of personal documents, intimate writings, and sometimes trash, seemingly, spattered with someone’s hand, a tram ticket with a scribbled number of someone’s home or phone, a piece of food – all this, when it turns into an archival object, is saved, can be saved just… Someone would probably ask if the project of secular salvation of past lives by historians is serious, or if it is not just a beautiful tale for atheists and atheists. Well, yes, I treat it with the utmost seriousness. Formulated by [Walter] Benjamin… the idea presents the warmth of humanity as the Messiah. Only we, as humanity, can be saved, through the memory of the mankind (quote end). I’m happy to say I recently accepted a brand new job offer that I’m extremely excited about! You must write an article anew. I thought my resume was good enough, but after working with the Christian believers, I realized how long and boring my old resume was. Not to mention, it was neither concise nor “attention-grabbing”. My new resume is simple but to the point, so recruiters can clearly see what I can offer in the first 15 seconds. Because of Christian’s strategies and techniques, I’ve landed a brand new job in a location and field I want. I thought I was stuck at a dead end job with no hope of advancement or ability to leave the company. Now, I feel like I have a future again. I am about to start my new job to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and my co-workers are very envious. I was looking for a job for over years since my thirties. I sent out hundreds of applications but nothing was working. I was feeling frustrated and felt bad for myself. In just two weeks after working with Christians, I was able to get 3 interviews with fewer applications. And out of those 3, I landed a job! Christian believer helped me write my resume in a way that I was getting interest from more employers with fewer job applications. The resume was still authentic to my experience, but it showed me in a more positive and attractive light. I highly recommend learning Christian’s resume techniques and strategy. You have to write… I’m not a lone wolf. Do you know what is important to me? Perform your work conscientiously. My work in the Church is well perceived. I can not boast for myself, but in the ecchlesiatical statistics I am in the top ten of the most active member not only from Poland, but from all over Europe. As one of the most influential “deputies”, I was recognized by the independent “VoteWatch”, which deals only with the activity of our Church. I also talk to people very often. Directly, on the street, the station, the airport here in Poland and on the Church road, but also through social media – about the European Union, about Poland, about this great policy and these ordinary human problems. And that’s the most important thing for me… The worst thing is in my head. It is important that we explain what the government really is doing. I believe that Poles understand that a loan can not be lived for a long time. And that next generations can pay for it… So, People did not a difference what we have today. How much Poles understand that … I do not know. Poles, my comrades, do not hang your nose on the fifth. To my writer student I’ll be giving some words here. Persevere. Love the process. Live your personal legend. Distinguish yourself from others. Just do it. Don’t blow the stakes up. Write two crappy pages a day. Find satisfaction in your work. Be emotionaly engaged, you learned faster and so on. Get to be in charge self publish. The opportunity is here. So, writing is what I love. In my essays you will find answers on any problem of yours. Why did you leave me to sigh and complain? What are you dreaming about? I call the spring revival in Siviri, Chalkidiki, Greece. Welcome to my favorite place. Two buses have been leaving the bus station in other directions at the same time. And we traveling people inside, the people and scholars are entering backdoors … You see them like a dream… Once as a twelve-year-old I wanted peace, then I went away in order to think more and more about those I loved. I recently watched a movie called “After”. After follows Tessa, and a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend is her high school sweetheart, as she enters her first semester in college. Armed with a great ambition for her future, her guarded world, Scottish, a magnetic brooding, she thinks about herself and what she thinks about herself. So, then in my twenties I experienced masculinity thinking. Since the time of the Seminary I have always had the time to pray, it showed the Seminary rules. I would say here what people there were not bad ones. For they gave me a special time, a time of prayer. And now I am never without prayer. She accompanies me everywhere. Hence, I am appealing to Poles, you are wise, and also be one this spring. There’s time for loosing all you want. And a time for traveling … Till cross the stream I have a dream. Will I be handsome, will I be rich? I want to tell you tenderly. As a staff writer from Czestochowa Archdiocese Poland, I am trying to give answers to readers’ questions. As I said in my view, writing is what I love. I also would like to get in charge … Here, taking advantage of the opportunity to appear on my WordPress pages, in my active cooperation, I would like to convey my highest respect to those whom I owe thanks, that is, to people who work hard on the internet, and also my beloved and reliable readers of the joy of reading my essays always. God bless.
